Harvest of Art: Celebrate, Shop, and Explore My Artistic Journey

Updated: Aug 19

As we transition from the summer heat to the subtle shift of cooler days, I’m excited to invite you to my upcoming event, "Harvest of Art: Celebrate & Shop," happening on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heather Pilapil’s Gallery in Temecula. While fall may still feel like a distant promise here in Southern California, this event will bring a touch of seasonal magic to our community, offering a unique blend of art, early holiday shopping, and celebration.

In recent months, I’ve been fully immersed in creating new works that reflect my ongoing artistic journey. Two of my latest pieces have been entered into the Temecula Plein Air competition. Though they don’t necessarily evoke a traditional fall feeling, they do capture the essence of our local landscapes and the ever-present interplay between light and shadow. Both pieces as well as those of other artists are currently anonymously on display at the Temecula Museum (closed on Mondays), and the winners will be announced on September 20th. The excitement of the competition, coupled with the opportunity to share these works, has been a highlight of my year.

Reflecting on Recent Successes

The past few months have been incredibly productive and rewarding. Completing my latest paintings for the Plein Air competition was a challenging but fulfilling experience. These pieces, with my latest personal piece, represent a continuation of my exploration into the themes that inspire me—nature, resilience, and the unseen connections that tie us to the world around us. Each work is a step further into the delicate balance between reality and imagination, and I’m eager to keep pushing these boundaries in my art.

In addition to the Plein Air competition, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be participating in a couple of upcoming events where you can view more of my work. On September 2nd, 5-8pm, I’ll be at Art Nights in Old Town Temecula, showcasing some of my latest creations. Later in the month, on September 14th, I’ll be part of Cartoon-a-palooza in Old Town Temecula Outside the Civic Center, where I’ll be bringing some fun, custom ready to go character-inspired pieces. These events offer the perfect opportunity to experience my work in person and even start your holiday shopping early with something truly unique.

Custom Art Commissions: Unique Gifts for the Holidays

As the holiday season approaches, I’m looking forward to taking on custom art commissions that allow me to create one-of-a-kind pieces tailored to your vision. Whether it’s fine arts portraiture—capturing the essence of a loved one or a cherished pet—or something more unconventional like custom glass painting, crochet/knit projects, or stone wrapping, I love the challenge of bringing your ideas to life.

I’ve worked on everything from ornaments and glassware to saws, car doors, and even children’s helmets. My goal is to make art accessible and personal, offering unique gifts that stand out during the holidays. Whether you’re looking for custom stickers, magnets, or something more elaborate like a book cover or t-shirt design, I’m here to help you create a gift that will be cherished for years to come. I encourage those interested to reach out early, as the holiday season tends to fill up quickly with commissions. Contact me at heatherpilapil@gmail.com or (951)551-5706.

Looking Ahead: Future Projects and Continuing the Series

Looking beyond the upcoming events, I’m eager to continue the painting series that began with my latest works. This series dives deeper into the themes of resilience and the unseen, exploring how our inner worlds intersect with the natural environment in unexpected ways. While I can’t reveal too much about the specifics of these works just yet, I’m excited to share them with you in the near future.

Additionally, I plan to continue offering my custom tattoo services, along with other creative projects like stone wrapping. My goal is to keep expanding the ways I can bring art into your life, whether through a tattoo, a personalized gift, or a new painting.

I hope you’ll join me for the "Harvest of Art: Celebrate & Shop" art show event on October 19th, 3-6pm, and at the other exciting events coming up in September. This is more than just an art show—it’s a chance to connect, celebrate, and find something truly unique for the holiday season. Stay tuned for more updates, and I look forward to seeing you there!
